Highlights
Skins
-
Parchment, Digest, Terminal, Typescript, and Spellbook. Each one restyles the whole app: fonts, colors, and document ornamentation.
This one might not survive to 1.0. Feels like pointless fluff, but it was a fun rabbit hole to go down. If you keep following development you’ll find I have a lot of those. It successfully itched my brain.
Working Copy
-
Personalize a copy of your GMX modules. Add, edit, or remove text until it’s ready to run at your table. The original file is untouched and always accessible.
I like running prewritten modules, but always add my own flavor in the form of NPCs or items or secrets. Hopefully others will also find this tool useful to allow us to incorporate those changes directly into the text, supporting my mission to reduce the number of panes and windows we need open while running a game.
GMX Encryption
-
Open encrypted GMX packages with an activation code.
No server or anything yet, just setting it up for development testing.
Quick Open
-
Empty panes now start on a Quick Open menu. You can search across pane types, document names, and document headings. Ctrl-O opens the same menu, and then you can select where the new pane or document shows up.
Terribly convenient way to get exactly where you want to go, and fast.
Link Peeks
-
Hovering over a GMX link shows a peek of the section it points to. You can lock the peek open and drag it around, open to the section in a new tab, or bring it up in one of the other pane types.
Thanks to septinite from the Cairn RPG Discord for pushing this suggestion! I hope it will be to your liking.
Added
- Added Back and Forward buttons to revert pane/layout changes or link jumps.
- Added Spellbound as an 11th color mood (indigo and gold), part of the Spellbook skin.
- Added content density setting for GMX documents, as well as general menu and toolbar density.
- Added a custom scrollbar for GMX, with bubbles showing each table of contents entry. You can switch back to the standard scrollbar in Preferences.
Changed
- Split Default GMX visual style into Classic and Standard. Classic is the previous default. Standard is the same except lighter block background coloring.
- Highlight colors tune somewhat to fit your color mood and light or dark appearance.
- Note status updated to a dropdown.
- Document options tab in Preferences now uses expandable sections with a live preview.
- Context pane tabs can be locked so they stay put while you browse.
Fixed
- Fixed PDF page jumps that could briefly flash the wrong pages.
- Fixed GMX bookmark and search jumps that could scroll a neighboring pane instead of staying in their own.
